Motor Fleet Insurance

Motor Fleet Insurance is a single insurance policy that covers multiple business vehicles under one plan. It’s ideal for companies that operate two or more vehicles – whether cars, vans, trucks or a mix. This policy simplifies management and ensures consistent coverage across your fleet.

What Are the Key Benefits?

  • One renewal date and insurer for all vehicles

  • Easier administration and documentation

  • Flexibility to add or remove vehicles during the policy term

  • Cost-effectiveness compared to insuring vehicles individually

What’s Covered by Motor Fleet Insurance?

Motor Fleet Insurance can be arranged at Comprehensive, Third Party, Fire and Theft, or Third Party Only levels – just like private motor insurance – but with business-specific flexibility.

Comprehensive Cover (most common for fleets)

  • Damage to your own vehicles (accidents, fire, theft, vandalism)

  • Damage to third-party property or vehicles

  • Injury to third parties, including passengers

  • Windscreen repairs or replacement

  • Accidental damage (even if your driver is at fault)

  • Courtesy or replacement vehicles (depending on the policy)

Third Party, Fire and Theft

  • Damage to third-party vehicles or property

  • Fire damage or theft of your own vehicles

Third Party Only (minimum legal requirement)

  • Damage to third-party property

  • Injury to third parties or passengers

Optional Add-Ons

  • Breakdown Cover – Roadside assistance and vehicle recovery

  • Windscreen Cover – Repairs or replacement

  • Legal Expenses Cover – For uninsured loss recovery or legal defence

  • European Cover – Driving across EU countries

What a Claim Might Look Like

1. At-Fault Collision

Scenario:
One of your drivers rear-ends another vehicle in traffic, causing damage to both cars.
Outcome:
Your Motor Fleet Insurance policy covers repairs to your vehicle and the third-party's vehicle, plus any legal costs or injury claims.

2. Theft of a Fleet Van

Scenario:
A company van loaded with tools is stolen overnight from your business premises.

Outcome:
Your comprehensive cover pays for the replacement of the van.

3. Fire Damage

Scenario:
A mechanical fault causes a fire in one of your vehicles, completely writing it off.
Outcome:
The policy pays out the market value of the vehicle at the time of the loss.

4. Windscreen Damage

Scenario:
A lorry’s windscreen is cracked by a stone while driving on the motorway.
Outcome:
The policy covers full windscreen repair or replacement with no impact on your claims bonus (if included).

5. European Accident

Scenario:
Your driver has a collision in France while delivering goods.
Outcome:
If European cover is in place, your policy will handle foreign repairs, third-party claims and legal support.
