Contractors All Risks Insurance

Contractors All Risks Insurance (CAR insurance) is a comprehensive policy designed for builders, developers and contractors. It covers physical loss or damage to construction works, materials and equipment – both on-site and in transit.

How Does a Contractors All Risks Insurance Policy Work?

Contract Works

Covers the cost to repair or rebuild ongoing construction work if it’s damaged by an insured event (e.g., fire, flood, vandalism or theft).

Own Plant, Tools and Equipment

Covers damage to or theft of your own construction equipment, including tools, diggers, scaffolding and more.

Hired-in and Hired-out Plant

Covers plant and machinery you’ve hired, including any contractual obligations for loss or damage. It can also offer cover if you hire out plants on a contingent basis, just in case your customers insurance fails.

Employee Tools

Protects tools owned by employees that are used on-site.
